Copenhagen lies at the end of the Danish motorway corridors: the E20 crosses the country from the west over the Great Belt and continues via the Øresund Bridge into Sweden, while the E47/E55 runs south towards Rødby and Gedser to the ferries to Germany. The motorway rings around the city distribute traffic to the port, airport and industrial estates. With the Fehmarnbelt link currently under construction, the connection to Germany will become even more direct in future. Which route do direct transports take from Germany to Copenhagen?
There are two proven routes: the Rostock-Gedser or Puttgarden-Rødby ferry followed by the E55/E47 to Copenhagen, or the pure overland route via Jutland and the Great Belt Bridge. We choose the option based on departure time, ferry schedule and deadline - the cargo stays on the same vehicle in either case.
Is Copenhagen suitable as an interchange point for transports to Sweden?
Yes. Via the Øresund Bridge, Malmö is only around 30 kilometres away, and from there the E6 and E4 continue to Gothenburg and Stockholm. Many Scandinavia services therefore route via Copenhagen. As a direct transport, the same vehicle drives through - without transhipment, with GPS tracking over the entire route.
Are there customs or special charges for transports to Copenhagen?
Customs, no - Denmark is an EU member, so these are single-market movements without customs clearance. However, ferry costs or the bridge tolls at the Great Belt and Øresund, as well as the Danish truck toll, are relevant to the calculation. All these costs are already included in our fixed price, so there are no surprises.
