Benefits of Direct Transport

Typical furniture shipments in direct transport

Furniture transports range from a manufacturer's complete delivery run to a single designer piece: upholstered furniture and sofa suites, office and contract furniture, kitchens with sensitive fronts, hotel and catering furnishings, and high-value bespoke pieces. Unlike many industrial goods, here it is less the weight than the volume that counts – and above all the surface: lacquer, veneer, leather and fabric do not forgive pressure marks, scratches or moisture.

Why a full truckload protects furniture best

The most critical moments in furniture transport are those in which goods are moved. In groupage networks that happens repeatedly – at every terminal there is restacking. With direct transport this is eliminated entirely: your furniture is loaded once and touched again only at the recipient, with no third-party part load in the same load compartment. This noticeably lowers the risk of damage and at the same time makes the delivery date that fitters or customers expect reliable.

Project deliveries and plant traffic

For hotel and contract projects we align the delivery with the construction progress: the vehicle comes when the interior fit-out is ready – not before and not too late, because storage space on site is usually scarce. Manufacturers use our direct runs for deliveries to dealers and end customers across Europe, for example on the classic furniture routes between Germany, Poland and Italy. A fixed price, GPS tracking and a team reachable around the clock are always part of the package.

Frequently asked questions

Why is a full truckload safer for furniture than a part load?

Because furniture is damaged above all during handling. In groupage networks goods are restacked at several terminals and combined with third-party goods – with direct transport, by contrast, loaded once and unloaded once, with no third-party part loads. Pressure marks, scratches and transport damage are thereby largely avoided.

Does furniture have to be specially packed for transport?

The factory transport packaging – cardboard, edge protection, film – is the best basis. In the vehicle we secure the goods in a form-fit way so that no pressure is exerted on surfaces and edges. Particularities such as unpacked single pieces or assembled goods are best discussed directly with our dispatch team.

Can you plan deliveries towards an opening date?

Yes, that is the normal case for hotel and contract projects. We clock the delivery to the construction state and assembly schedule, keep the agreed date via a direct run without transhipment and deliver a precise arrival time by GPS. If the project shifts, we re-dispatch at short notice – our team is reachable throughout.
